Project Honeypot

Austin portrait photography studio Project Honey Pot is a web based honeypot network which uses software embedded in web sites to collect information about IP addresses used when harvesting e-mail addresses for spam or other similar purposes such as bulk mailing and e-mail fraud. The project also solicits the donation of unused MX entries from domain owners. In computer terminology, a honeypot is a trap set to detect, deflect, or in some manner counteract attempts at unauthorized use of information systems. Generally it consists of a computer, data, or a network site that appears to be part of a network, but is actually isolated and monitored, and which seems to contain information or a resource of value to attackers.

Creative Commons

Creative Commons (CC) is a non-profit organization devoted to expanding the range of creative works available for others to build upon legally and to share. The organization has released several copyright-licenses known as Creative Commons licenses free of charge to the public. These licenses allow creators to communicate which rights they reserve, and which rights they waive for the benefit of recipients or other creators. An easy to understand one-page explanation of rights, with associated visual symbols, explains the specifics of each Creative Commons license.
